Away Resorts required a flagship restaurant to kick-start their 2018 holiday season.

C-Side Design took the venue back to the park's roots of being a family friendly dining experience that links the holiday-makers with their surroundings. The existing restaurant did not have a clear connection to it's namesake; the park's original owner & woodland skill tutor Aubrey Westlake. The new design brings the outdoors in with a feature trunk bar, birch screens, tree trunk stools in the waiting area & a fire pit on the terrace to toast marshmallows.

The bar was enlarged- which the client had thought about previously but was hesitant to take up more floor space. In reality the new footprint only incorporated the previously redundant floor area between structural posts and linked the areas together, without reducing covers.

An extension was formed to the side of the venue & all new furniture and lighting set the atmosphere.

With a small 'refresh' and embellishment designed for 2022, it's still a must for visitors at Sandy Balls.
